In past tense forms, all Dari verbs are conjugated by adding the following personal endings to the past stem:

1st pers. sing. م am رفتم "I went"
2nd pers. sing. ی i رفتی "you went"
3rd pers. sing. no ending رفت "he (she) went"
1st pers. pl. یم im رفتیم "we went"
2nd pers. pl. ید id رفتید "you (plural) went"
3rd pers. pl. ند and رفتند "they went"
In informal speech, the 2nd person plural ending ید id is pronounced in and the 3rd person plural ending ند and is pronounced an.
The following past tense forms are formed from the past stem by adding the personal endings mentioned above: the Preterit, the Imperfect, and the Past Participle.
