Adverbs are words that modify verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs. They express the circumstances that attend an action or a state, or point out some characteristic features of an action or a quality.

Adverbs are classified in several groups, according to their meanings:
a) adverbs of place,
b) adverbs of time,
c) adverbs of degree and measure,
d) interrogative adverbs,
e) adverbs of manner.
Adverbs can act as adverbial modifiers in a sentence.
