Pronominal Adjectives

In a sentence, adjectives can be replaced with a special class of pronouns called pronominal adjectives, some of which are used as question words. In Urdu, the principal pronominal adjectives are as follows:

کیسا

kaisaa 'what kind of?'

ایسا

aisaa 'such'

ویسا

vaisaa 'of that kind'

جیسا

jaisaa 'such as'

کتنا

kitnaa 'how much?'

اِتنا

itnaa 'this much'

اُتنا

utnaa 'that much'

جتنا

jitnaa 'as much'

کونسا

kaunsaa 'which?'
