Nouns

Nouns are words naming people, places, things, ideas, qualities, etc. In Pashto, nouns change their form to express gender, case, and number.

In addition to the changes listed in the topics above, nouns can be changed to indicate animacy (meaning that they refer to something that is alive) by adding the plural ending [-aan] - ان , but this category has no strict morphological features in general.
