Conjunctions

The conjunction is a part of speech which denotes connections between objects and phenomena. It connects parts of the sentence, clauses, and whole sentences.

Conjunctions are categorized in three main groups according to their structure:

a) simple (such as "and" - اَو , "but" - خُو )

b) paired ( "neither … nor" - نَه ...نَه , "or…or" - کَه...کَه )

c) composite i.e. consisting of several words ("because" - ڂٌکَه چی , "when" - کٌلَه چی )

Conjunctions are divided into two classes according to their function:

a) coordinating conjunctions (See Coordinating Conjunctions.)

b) subordinating conjunctions (See Subordinating Conjunctions.)
