Compound Sentences

A compound sentence is a sentence which consists of two or more clauses coordinated with each other. A clause is a part of a sentence which has a subject and a predicate of its own.

In a compound sentence, the clauses may be connected by means of coordinating conjunctions ("and" - اَو , "but" - خُو , "or" - اَو یا, and so on) or by intonation. For example:

"I suddenly met my friends and we went to a tea house."
