Gerundives

Gerundives are verbal nouns that express the necessity of some action. They end in نا -naa and inflect for gender. For example: دیکھنا dekhnaa (masculine) and دیکھنی dekhnii (feminine) both mean 'which must be seen'.

The gerundive is widely used in constructions expressing obligation and necessity. See Some Important Urdu Constructions.
