Particles

Particles are a part of speech that gives modal or emotional emphasis to other words.

Particles are classified in the following groups, based on their meanings:

a) intensifying particles:

"very" - [khwaraá] خْورا

"very" - [Der] ډېر

b) limiting particles:

"only" - [yawaáze] یوازی

"also" - [ham] هَم

"still" - [laa] لا

"again" - [byaa] بیا

c) modal particles:

the particle [bA] بٌه (see Particle بٌه in Tense Formation)

"let" - [de] دې

d) emotional particles:

"you know" - [kho] خُو

"ever" - [ka na] کَه نَه

"even" - [háttaa] حَتی

e) interrogative particles:

"whether" - [aayaá] آیا

"really" - [magár] مَگَر

f) affirmative particle "yes" - [ho] هُو

g) negative particles:

"no", "not" - [na] نَه

"not" (with a verb in imperative mood) - [ma] مَه
