Imperative

The imperative (فِعْلُ الأمْرِ  ) is used for affirmative commands.

For many verbs, if the second letter of the second person jussive carries a vowel, the imperative is formed by deleting the first letter, as in the following example:

تَعَلَّمْ  -  تَتَعَلَّمْ (learn)

In many cases in which the second letter of the second person jussive carries a sukuun, the first letter is deleted and replaced with a vowel to form the imperative:

أُكْتُبْ  -  تَكْتُبْ (write)
