Immediate Past (Venir + de + Infinitive)

The immediate past is used to indicate that an action has just taken place. It is formed with the present of venir (to come) + de + infinitive of main verb.

Il n'est pas là; il vient de partir.
(He is not here; he just left.)

Quel bonheur! Je viens de finir mes devoirs.
(What a joy! I just finished my homework.)
