The words enfant, femme, personne, and voiture are the nouns. They are modified by articles, adjectives, and adverbs.
Il cherche quelque
chose de nouveau et d'intéressant.
(He is looking for something new and interesting.)
Quelque chose is a pronoun and the main element of the noun phrase here, de nouveau et d'interessant are used to modify it.
