Prepositions

Prepositions are used with nouns in every case except the nominative. Many prepositions can be followed by different cases to give different meanings.

Prepositions with Verbs of Motion

You will see that prepositions are identified by location or direction. This is an important distinction in Polish, because, very often, the same preposition used with different cases will indicate the location of an activity or the direction in which the action of the verb of motion is moving.

Jestem na koncercie.
(I am at a concert.)
Idęna koncert.
(I am going to a concert.)
