With the exception of نِصْفٌ (half), fractions ( الْكُسورُ) are built from cardinal numbers. They are masculine in gender regardless of the gender of the object.
Examples:
نِصْفٌ one half
ثُلْثٌ one third
رُبْعٌ one fourth
خُمْسٌ one fifth
سُدسٌ one sixth
سُبْعٌ one seventh
ثُمْنٌ one eighth
تُسْعٌ one ninth
عُشْرٌ one tenth
Composite numbers have no fraction form, but are stated as:
واحِدٌ مِنْ خَمْسَ عَشَرَةَ one out of fifteen, "one fifteenth"
واحِدٌ مِنْ عِشْرينَ one twentieth, "one out of twenty"
Percentages are formed with the number of the percentage followed by بالْمِئَةِ ("in one hundred"):
ثَمانِيَةٌ بِالْمِئَةِ eight percent
